In fall 2000, members from Phi Alpha Delta competed at the annual mock trial competition during the Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Conference. It was the first time any group at William Woods had participated in competitive mock trial. The team captured third place for overall team performance. The following spring, the same team, along with other PAD members tried the case distributed by the American Mock Trial Association (AMTA) in regional competition. Again, the team was recognized for its performance. William Woods and its Phi Alpha Delta chapter are now active year-round and represented at both the Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Conference and AMTA competitions.
